Committed

I have now completed my three introductory duet sessions on the reformer. Loved it, although I did feel quite awkward with the perfect bodies surrounding me. Additionally, my friend who did it with me used to teach aerobics with the pilates instructor. I could not have felt more frumpy and out of shape if I tried.

Problem is the cost, I just don't know if I can swing it. My goal is to do pilates on the reformer two times a week and in a mat class (at the Y) once a week. We'll have to see if I can make it work. $600 for two months seems a little high, especially in this economy and with both my husband and I taking mandatory furloughs. However, I have noticed a little more energy to play with my little guy. Additionally, I feel more confident. Good for the little guy, good for me and good for my husband.

I have also purchased Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred. Goal -- do it on non-pilates days. It was a killer today, I am embarrassingly out of shape. I have not taken my measurements yet, but will in the next post.

Weight - 165 lbs. (yes, I have gained 5 lbs. I would like to say muscle, but I fear it may be due to Halloween candy).

Four hundred dollars a month?!!?!

My goal is to lose 35 pounds by October 28, 2010 (my fifth wedding anniversary). I have a son with severe special needs. He is unable to move by himself, my life involves much lifting and carrying so that he can have as normal of a life as possible. I miss being in shape and hope to get there soon. I have chosen pilates as my weapon for the following reasons:

1. I hate yoga, it moves too slow.
2. I love the way the movie stars look (might as well be honest).
3. I cannot be sore.
4. I bought Winsor pilates in the day and loved it.

I am 5'5, 160 lbs, size 14 and drink approximately 8 Diet Cokes a day. Wish me luck!
